Technician receives jail time for animal neglect published by DVM News in
2012,and written by Heather Biele, illustrates a Veterinary Technician who was
handed a 90 day jail sentence and two years for probation because of animal
neglect. Neighbors complained of an awful disheveled yard and swarm of flies
around the windows. When the landlord entered the house, he found the dog, a
Rottweiler, as well as two gaunt cats. The Vet Technician told the Humane Society
that it had been practically two weeks since the cats had been fed. Due to the fact
of the neglect, the human society agreed with the court ruling because the dog died
a very painful death because of Zinc Phosphide. The Humane Society is hoping that
it is a wakeup call for the owner.
