Weekly Lesson Plans!

WEEK ONE (8/24-8/28)


OBJECTIVES
*To know how to get instrument out
*To know how to put instrument together
*Review the names of the strings
*Know the posture steps! (#1-4)
*Review correct posture while playing your instrument.
*Play Pages 5 and 6(?) pizzicato.

SEQUENCE
*Take instruments out and put together.

*Check practice logs and pass out stickers!


*Remind students of Goals!
*Review names of strings.
*Review posture steps #1-4!
*Go through correct posture:
Sitting up straight on edge of the chair

Tall Back
Feet Flat on the Floor
*Review Holding up Instrument
*Play Page 5 with plucking!
*Play Page 6(?) with plucking!

HOMEWORK:
*Take out practice Log.
*Assign next weeks goal!
*Remind about lesson schedule and bringing materials.

WEEK TWO (8/31-9/4)

OBJECTIVES
*To review posture steps:
(#1-4 with all instruments!)
*Know how to use correct posture while playing their
instrument and why we use correct posture.
*Review the left hand shape and notes on the D string.
*Play Goals B and C with plucking.

SEQUENCE
*Have agenda written on the board.
*Come in and get instruments out.
*Check practice logs and pass out stickers.
*Remind students of goals and how we will perform them.
*Review names of strings.
*Review correct posture while playing.
*Go through Posture Steps #1-4:
Vln/Vla: #1: in front
#2: over head
#3: over to the left above shoulder
#4: on shoulder
Cello/Bass: #1: OUT
#2: IN
#3: Left hand touches the scroll (wrap
around)
#4: Left hand on fingerboard
*Play through Goal B
-Pluck and bow. #8-13
-Have each student play the songs by themselves.
-Play some songs together.

*Start Goal C
-Plucking and bowing: #14-18.
-Review left hand shapes!
*Explain about UNIT TESTS!!!
-Review how to earn belts and what they need to do
in
order to get their belts. WRITTEN/PLAYING.
-Show them a sample of the unit written test.
-Students must pass BOTH in order to get the next
belt!

HOMEWORK:
*Take out practice logs.
*Assign next weeks goal.
