Thank you for your time and for allowing me an opportunity to talk to you about Emily Johnson.
Emily is a Bachelors Level student intern at Lighthouse PATH and has been assigned to work in our
Transitional Housing Program. During her internship, Emily has been responsible for providing
emotional support and encouragement on a daily basis to residents and their children. In addition,
Emily has had to conduct life skill classes and work one on one with families assigned to her.
During her internship, Emily has demonstrated a unique balance of professionalism and compassion
that is necessary in order to be effective with a population that has faced homelessness, single
motherhood, and various other issues ranging from abandonment to abuse. Emily has been
impressive with her ability to relate to the program participants while also setting an example and
motivating them to aspire to be and do more than what they are currently experiencing. Emily takes
direction and constructive criticism well and also brings new ideas to the table always demonstrating
an eagerness to implement them as well as learn more.
Emilys empathy and understanding are equally matched by her professionalism. Those, along with
her communication skills and her ever-growing knowledge base, make me feel honored in having
worked with her and with being asked to give her my most favorable recommendation. If you have
