Divine Mercy Messages Part 2 of 3

The Divine Mercy Chaplet is one of the best means of
assisting the dying. St. Faustina wrote these words
upon hearing God the Father say within her:
When this chaplet is said by the bedside of a
dying person, divine wrath is placated,
unfathomable mercy envelopes the soul, and the
very depths of My tender mercy are moved for
the sake of the sorrowful Passion of My Son
(Diary, 811).
Write that when they say this chaplet in the
presence of the dying, I will stand between My
Father and the dying person, not as the just Judge
but as the merciful Savior (Diary, 1541).
The prayer follows along the rosary beads.
1. Sign of the Cross
2. [Optional Prayer:] You expired, Jesus, but the
source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean
of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount
of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the
whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.
(O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from
the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us,
I trust in You!) (x3)
3. The Our Father
4. The Hail Mary
5. The Apostles Creed
6. [On Big Beads} Eternal Father, I offer you the
Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly
Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement
for our sins and those of the whole world.
7. [On Small Beads} For the sake of his sorrowful
passion, have mercy on us and on the whole
world.
8. Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal
One, Have mercy on us and on the whole world.
(x3)

9. [Optional Ending Prayer:] Eternal God, in whom

mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion
inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your
mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not
despair nor become despondent, but with great
confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is
Love and Mercy itself.
Information from the 2004 Marian Fathers of the
Immaculate Conception of the B.V.M brochure The
Divine Mercy Chaplet for the Sick and the Dying.

Each day of the novena, our Lord gave Saint Faustina a

dierent intention:
1.
2.
3.
4.

Pray for all mankind, especially sinners;

Pray for the souls of priests and religious;
Pray for all devout and faithful souls;
Pray for those who do not believe in God and those
who do not yet know Jesus;

5. Pray for the souls who have separated themselves

from the Church;
6. Pray for the meek and humble souls and the souls
of liKle children;
7. Pray for the souls who especially venerate and
glorify His mercy;
8. Pray for the souls detained in purgatory;
9. and pray for the souls who have become
lukewarm.
