Marks
Two questions.
Must answer both.
 SHAK - Question 1a

Asks you to describe and evaluate your skills development over

your practical production units – from Foundation to Advanced. You
are also allowed to include any relevant skills development you gained
outside the media course – extra-curricular projects.

The question will ask you to consider your skill development in terms of
one or two of the following areas:

 Digital Technology
 Creativity
 Research and Planning
 Post-Production
 Using conventions from real media texts.
 SEVERN - Question 1b
Choose one production.

Will ask you to evaluate it in terms of one of the Media Key Concepts:

 Genre
 Narrative
 Representation
 Audience
 Media Language

You would talk about the production piece you did that is most relevant to the
question.

EXAMPLE: A Narrative/Genre question would be good to answer referring

to your Thriller
The Questions Simplified:
 1a) How have your skills improved in the
last two years of practical work?

 1b) How is one of your pieces of practical

work a good example of the Key Concepts
of Media Studies?

 Both questions could ask you to look at any

of the areas, so you need to prepare for
them all.
