What Are We Learning This Week?

Reading and Writing: We will be continuing our retelling unit
in reading. Our focus is retelling fictional texts using the
beginning, middle, and end format. We will also be using
these skills in our writing by writing mini books with a strong
beginning, middle, and end. You can help out and
practice these skills at home by asking your child about the
beginning, middle, and end of books they read and/or
movies and shows they watch.
Math: This week we will be wrapping up our first marking
period. We will be reviewing all concepts we have learned
throughout the first nine weeks. The first grade team will be
looking at data to determine what each student needs to
review before benchmark testing begins.
Science/History: Just like math, this week we will be
wrapping up our first marking period. We will be reviewing
all concepts we have learned throughout the first nine
weeks. All of the concepts will be review in class. Please
review study guides each night at home.
