Dorrian, McLean Jr., Owens and Scott All-Conference members

HERKIMER, NY The Herkimer Generals mens basketball team had four players selected to the
Mountain Valley All-Conference Team in February, finishing the regular season 16-0 against conference
opponents.
Making it to the first team was Patrick Dorrian (Kingston, NY) and Anquan McLean Jr. (Albany,
NY). Dorrian - a Liberal Arts & Sciences: Generals Studies major at Herkimer College - led the Generals
in scoring, averaging 14.0 points per game. The sophomore was 21 st nationally in three-point makes (83for-231) and second in free throw percentage (90.0). His best game came against SUNY Adirondack at
home, scoring 27 points in a 97-53 win. The guard shot 10-for17 from the field and 6-for-7 from three in
that game.
As for McLean Jr., the forward is a Business: Sports & Recreation Management major at
Herkimer College. As a freshman McLean Jr. almost averaged a double double. He collected 9.5 points
and 10.6 rebounds per contest, totaling 10 double doubles in 23 games played. His season-high in points
came against Fulton-Montgomery, totaling 20 points. His season-high in rebounds came against
Tompkins Cortland, grabbing 21 rebounds. Both were home games Herkimer won 79-62 and 85-69
respectively.
Daniel Owens (Albany, NY) and Tyquan Scott (Long Beach, NY) rounded out the squad as third
team mentions. Both are Business majors at Herkimer, and were the Generals only other two players than
Dorrian to average double figures in points per game. Owens tallied 11.4 while Scott had 12.1 in each
contest.

Helping Owens, a Business Administration major, to those numbers was three 20-point games. His
season-high was 27 against Schenectady in a 100-53 victory where he went 9-for-12 from the field and 6for-7 from three point land. That wasnt his only contribution however, as the sophomore was 21 st in the
region with 34 steals.
Helping Scott, a Sports & Recreation Management major, to 12.1 points per game was three 20
point games as well, managing double figures in 18 of the 28 games his played in. His season-high came
against Jefferson, a team which played in the Region III Championship game in 2016. Against the
Cannoneers Scott scored 26 points, going 11-for-18 from the field, 1-for-3 from three and 3-for-4 from
the charity stripe. Scott finished the season with 140 field goals which was 19 th best in the region. The
freshman also had 26 blocks which ranked 11th in the region.
