UAT Testing Process Steps for Software Development

1) Involve people from the user community that understand the

business process to test and identify defects.

2) Train users if necessary to use the software.

3) Develop specific test scenarios and cases.

4) Executing the tests, including judging completeness and

accuracy of the business functionality, screens, reports, results,
and judging the usability of the interface for all groups/ types of
users.

5) Document defects. May include recording conditions prior to

starting a test case, actions taken during the test, test results,
screen prints, updated checklists, copies of reports.

6) Report defects to the development or test team lead. The

team lead will determine the severity of the defect and how it
should be referred for corrective action.

7) Hold meetings between the project manager, business lead

and development team to review defects, prioritize the issues
and assign corrective work as necessary.

8) Developers and Analysts correct problems, perform

appropriate unit and integration tests, and rerelease software
back to the Client Test Process.
