Shared Vision for the Types of Children We Are Helping to Develop

Building on the broader vision, mission, motto and values, the school has developed a shared
vision of the kinds of children we are helping to develop during their years at IslandCA. The What
is encapsulated in the following table, and the Why in the interpretation of scripture below the
table:

We want our students to develop like Jesus, and with a Growth mindset Growing in wisdom (academically), Growing in stature (physically),
Growing in favour with God (spiritually), Growing in favour with man (socially).

Definitions:
Adaptability means I can work well with new people, places and changing circumstances.
Communication: I use many ways to clearly share my ideas and feelings with others
Cooperation: I work with others and take on different roles in a TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves

Enquiry means I can ask questions, investigate, and find answers.
Morality means I choose what is right and reject what is wrong because God loves me.
Resilience means I recover quickly from difficulties and I dont give up.
Respect means I treat others with honor because all people have worth.
Thoughtfulness means I think carefully and reflect on my work and my choices.
International Mindedness is: accepting, respecting and celebrating the diversity among ourselves
and the global community.
