To access electronic content outside the library you will need to authenticate yourself as a UTEP
student. The option for remote access:
1. VPN Connection- this will allow you to operate as if you were on-campus and on UTEP's
hardwired network.

Open Network & Sharing Center

Go to "system preferences"

Click on "Setup a new connection or network"

Next click on network

Then click on "Connect to a workplace"

Click on the "+" sign at the bottom left hand corner.

Click on "Use my Internet Connection (VPN)"

In the interface bar choose VPN and for the VPN type
choose PPTP

In the internet address bar type: vpn.utep.edu.

In the destination name bar type: UTEP VPN

Click next.

From the library home page, click on the tab Articles & Databases.
Select the Subject category Theatre Arts, and then click the Link to database: Dance to Video (Alexander
Street Press)
Under Browse, click Genre and click on Dance. Then choose Modern Ballet.

The Dance in Video database is still growing and more videos are always being added all the time.

From the library home page, click on the tab Articles & Databases.
Select the Subject category Theatre Arts, and then click the Link to database: Garland Encyclopedia of
Music. Click on Browse by Cultural Groups.

Another resource you may find helpful is Naxos Video Library.


Under Genres and Programmes click on Monuments/History/Geography. The videos dealing with
anthropology are in the Cosmos Global section.

Academic Search Complete

Tip: Utilize the limiters available in Academic Search Complete to make your searches more precise.

Adding more EBSCO Databases

From the library home page, click on the tab Articles & Databases.
Select the Subject category Theatre Arts, and then click the Link to database: Academic Search
Complete. In the search box type: kathak.
Click on the article: Defying Britains Tick-Box Culture: Kathak in Dialogue with Hip-Hop

Change your search to: mexic* and danc*.

The asterisk is a wildcard character. It will find variations on the ending of your root word.
