Scope of Activities
Toyota’s main activities are are automobile and motorcycle production. The company
has also non-automobile activities about housing,finance,information technology
systems, marine and biotechnology.

Brand names
Toyota Motor Corporation’s main brand is Toyota. Toyota is a well known brand all
over the world and has a high market share. The other well known brands of
company are Lexus, Hino and Daihatsu.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Toyota Motors Corporation is to make maximum long-term profits
for its stockholders and be a good corporate citizen

Vision Statement
To become the most successful and respected car company in each market around
the world by offerring customers the best purchasing and ownership experience.

Since its foundation, the philosophy of Toyota has been to “be of service to society” and
“contribute to society through the manufacture of automobiles.”. Toyota company has
projects about “Global Warming Prevention Initiative”, “Sustainable Plant Activites”,
“Automobile Recycling” and “ Environmental Conversation Initiatives”. With “Global
Warming Prevention Initiative”, Toyota considers responses to help prevent global warming
to be a priority management issue and is implementing measures to reduce CO2 emissions by
restricting energy consumption in all areas of business activities, and in all stages of vehicle
development and design, production, logistics and sales. With “Sustainable Plant Activities”,
The company consider the concept of a plant that fully utilizes natural resources, while
existing in harmony with the natural environment. “ Environmental Conversation Initiatives”
project includes Toyota Forests, Toyota Institute of Sustainable Living. The future plans of
Toyota is announced with “Global Vision 2020” project. This project can be summarized as:
The environment surrounding the automotive industry is undergoing drastic changes, with
economic development accelerating in a number of regions throughout the world and
environmental and energy-related issues having an impact on a global scale. Amid these
changes Toyota endeavors to remain a useful member of the global and local communities
and toward this end has formulated its "Global Vision 2020," which provides a future vision
for Toyota's place in the world.

The technology level in Toyota manufacturing system’s is the leading technology in
automobile sector. Toyota listed as the third most innovative company in
2009(businessweek) and prove the high level of technology. Lean manufacture
system, JIT(Just in Time) production and the most respectable car of Toyota, Linus,
are the most important technological advantages of Toyota. The firm philosophy,
kaizen, is also gives clues about the importance of technology for Toyota company.
Kaizen refers to a philosophy or practices that focus upon continuous improvement of
processes in manufacturing, engineering, supporting business processes, and
management. Kaizen aims to achieve continuous improvement in a company and all
employees involved in this progress. Toyota is the most known company that has a
huge success with kaizen system.
