UK REFUGEES
In the UK, Gateway Protection Program, which isoperatedbytheBritish
governmentinpartnershipwiththeUnitedNationsHighCommissionerforRefugees
(UNHCR)andcofundedbytheEuropeanUnion(EU).Thisprogramoffersalegal
routeforaquotaofUNHCRtoidentifywhichrefugeescansettleintheUnited
Kingdom.TheGatewayProtectionProgramme,thereisaquotaof500refugeesthat
comeintothecountryeachyear,whichwaslaterincreasingto750.In2015,the
actualnumberofrefugeesresettledwasfewerthanthequotapermitted.Therewere
Syrians,Liberian,Congolese,Sudanese,Burmese,Ethiopian,Mauritanian,Iraqi,
Bhutanese,Eritrean,Palestinian,andSomalirefugeeshavebeenresettledunderthis
program.RefugeeshavebeenresettledtoanumberoflocationsinEnglandand
Scotland.Inthisprogram,therewereeightareinNorthregionofEnglandandthree
inYorkshireandHumberside.This policy was different from the claiming procedure
asylum in UK. Nowadays, 15 local authorities were interested in Gateway Protection
Program and want to follow. Moreover, in the first year, refugees that come to the UK
will get funds from the home office of UK government to cover accommodation,
shelter, food, relief packages, health and protection services, as well as cash assistance
giving individuals the freedom to decide how best to cover their needs to refugees.
The Home Secretary initiated a program to provide emergency protection in
UK for helping Syrians who didnt have the power. All of the vulnerable people are
the target of the powerful persons such as the women and children. Both of them are
mostly risk to threatened by the power person. So this program makes for protecting
them by giving medical care. Also this program is consisted of the Gateway and the
Mandate schemes.

In alliance with Myanmar, the UK plans to create an organization for helping

the international refugees. Because Myanmar and UK have similar policy. This
organization will protect them and help them from their own country. The most thing
that we focused on is residence because almost refugees who come to our country
first thing that they want are residence. So this organization will provide it to them.
Also the next things that we provide to them are foods and clean water. Foods and
clean water are very important to survive. Otherwise, we give an education and a
health care to them. According to the above, this organization gives all of them to
only 750 refugees. So we decided to have the limit number of refugees because if
there are many refugees; it maybe effect the UK citizen. Refugees need to eat, live
and comfort so it will use much money from our citizens for raising those refugees.
Moreover, there is the special conditions that they can change to be the UK citizen
while they live in UK if they make benefit things to our country and never make a
trouble to us. In term of benefit things, it means like when they lived in refugees
house, they do unskilled informal work or some of part time. We will change them to
be our citizen. After they become the UK citizen, they will have the right to get a job
and they will receive the money. Also it is a benefit to us that we wont pay the money
for taking care of them.
For other country that refugees want to come to our country but they cannot
come maybe because of their money, their limited and another reasons. Firstly, we
will come to observe them about how their life look like, difficulty or poverty. And if
they need our help we will come and bring them to our country. Additionally, Syria
has the highest amount of refugees in our country. Because in their country have the
war inside the country like terrorize and many people who are innocent victims of the
war want to escape. So we give a hand and help them to come in our country. In some

case we just give the money to them for surviving. For example; in the BBC news
revealed in Syria, it has their conflict and war. There were approximately 250,000
people were killed, 11 million displace of their home and more than 4 million already
left their country. According to the news, the UK government sent the military and
help those innocent victims by receiving 1000 Syrian refugees to come at UK. The
UK government provided the comfortable things to them which was controlled by the
organization named Vulnerable Person Relocation, or VPR). VPR is the organization
of UK which protect the people who is vulnerable. Moreover, the prime minister of
UK also promised that he would receive 20,000 Syrian refugees over five years. As
above, you can see that our government just only help to than and dont involve in
their problems.
