I will be graduating this year with a Master of Teaching degree from the University of Toronto, in addition to already receiving my Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Studies. My fluency in Mandarin allows me to bridge communication gaps, making transitions into the school system easier for English Language Learners’ and their families. Through direct engagements during parent-teacher interviews, newsletters, and one-to-one conferencing, I build strong relationships with families and establish a culture of openness and trust. Through the integration of information and communications technology (ICT) in our 2Ist century classrooms, my aim is to help students become digital citizens by making their learning relevant, all the while fostering their curiosity and eagerness to be active participants in their own learning. I have successfully integrated SMARTboards and iPads in my lessons as important tools to differentiate instruction for all learners. | will continue to learn and integrate STEM education into my teaching, allowing students to explore subjects at a greater depth and help students develop critical thinking skills. 1 am committed to being a role mode! for students by valuing and promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.
