Direct Instruction Lesson Plan Template: Activity Description of Activities and Setting Time
Prior Knowledge: Remind the students how in class they have been comparing themselves to others and asking questions
to see who is the same and who is different.
Activity

To have the students in two groups of ten and standing in two lines of five for
each group.

Use the four questions to ask five classmates to find out who you are the same
and different with.

4. Guided Practice
Hand out the papers the students will use. Explain what the students will be
doing. Give the students an example. (Demonstrate how the students will
work with their partners and then how the line moves.) Read each question to
the students so they know what they are answering and asking.
Have the students listen to the question being asked then answer each one on
the line provided.
5. Independent Practice
This is the time when the students are with their partners answering and
writing down answer that they are given.

Use exit ticket and ask students to share one thing they found to have in common and
different with a classmate. Then collect the worksheet and go over it to see if the students
wrote down the answers each partner gave them.
Remind the students the reason why the activity was done is so that they
themselves can see how they are similar and different to others even though

they make look the same or different. Also how it does not matter where
someone is from there is always something in common with them.
