Big Balls Small Holes: By-Laws

1.

League will be made up of 16 members, and played in a team format (2 vs. 2) each week.

2.

League will be a Round Robin system, where you will play with a new partner each week until
you have played WITH every member of the league once, and AGAINST every member of the
league twice.

3.

Team scores will be determined by taking each team members score, subtracting their
handicap, and adding them together. The team with the lowest combined score will win that
weeks match up.

4.

Every 6th week (6, 12, 18) will be played as individual matchups based on handicaps. Matchups will be determined by the following:

5.

a.

Week 6 will be randomly drawn match-ups, selected at the course week 5

b.

Week 12 will be seeding style, with 1vs16, 2vs15, ect

c.

Week 18 will be 1vs2, 3vs4, 5vs6 ect.

Player handicaps (9 hole score minus 36), will be determined as follows:

a.

Week 1 and week 2 will be played without a handicap.

b.

Week 1 scores will be averaged with week 2 scores, to determine the initial handicap.

c.

The initial handicap will then be applied to the Week 1, and Week 2, to determine
winners for those weeks.

d.

Each week, each players handi-cap will be updated to include the previous week.

e.

Player handi-caps will only include the 5 most recent scores (after week 5, week 1 will
be dropped from the average).

f.

A maximum score of 10 strokes per hole (not double par, if you get a 10 on a par 3, you
earned that 10, you dont get a 6)

g.
6.

Handicaps will be rounded down.

League leaders will be determined by a point system, which will be awarded as follows:
a.

12 points to each team member for winning a weekly match up (Team).

i. 6 points for each team if tie.

b.

1 point for each par scored (Individual).

c.

4 points for each birdie scored (Individual).

d.

10 points for each eagle scored (Individual).

e.

2 points for each golfer who beats their handicap for any week (Individual).
i. These points will not be awarded for the week 1, or week 2. Because the handi-cap
is an average of week 1 and week 2, then applied retroactively, everyone will have

beat their handi-cap in one of these 2 weeks. Points for beating your handi-cap will
begin on week 3.
7.

Hole in one is considered a Golden Ticket to play in the finals.

a.

Hole in One must be during Tuesday golf, during league play.

b.

In the event of a Golden Ticket finals participant, that player will play the finals with the
handicap used during the hole in one round.

8.

If a player cant golf on Tuesday, he should pre-golf, and that score will be used for that weeks
entry; or post-golf, preferably before Friday, but definitely before the following Tuesday.
a. Players will be allowed 3 Pre/Post golf sessions with no penalty. On the 4th Pre/Post golf,
that player will be eligible for 75% of the team points (9 points). Starting with the 5th
Pre/Post golf, that player is eligible for 50% of the team points (6 points). (Individual points
are not affected).
b. If a player does not pre-golf, or post golf for any given week, that player will be given a
score of his current handicap +2 (38 Net Score) (This score will not be averaged in with
previous scores, as to not raise that players handicap).
i. Points will be awarded using the absent players penalty score.
ii. Absent player will not be eligible for any points, as you cannot get
points if you do not play.

9.

At the conclusion of 18 weeks, the players with the 4 highest point totals will play one 18 hole
round, with handicaps (Final Handicap x2) to determine 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place.

10.

Should more than 4 players finish with a top 4 score, all players that qualify will participate in the
championship round (Still only 4 payouts).

11.

Final round should be played at Giant Oak, but can be played at any other agreeable course
(decision must be unanimous amongst participants).

Should there be a tie between players at the end of the championship round, players who tied will
pool their respective winnings, and divide the money equally.
