Business functional areas are the departments, groups or divisions that supervise

and execute the major functions of business in an organization. Functional-level

strategies are used to implement the firm's strategic plans (Pearce II & Robinson, 2014).
Each and every functional area needs certain plans and objectives to carry out its function
properly and help the organization to operate smoothly and achieve its objectives
effectively and efficiently. The functional level of the strategy develops annual objectives
and short term strategies in the areas such as production, operations, research and
development, finance and accounting, marketing and human relations (Pearce II &
Robinson, 2014). These strategic plans are made by the executive levels and passed to the
functional areas to implement those strategies which help to achieve the objectives of the
company and gain the competitive advantages over other firms and organizations. These
functional levels are responsible for the issues related with the efficiency and the
effectiveness with in the production and marketing system and ensure that the customers
are having the best quality services from the company and gaining the market share from
the competitors.
