The US consists of 50 states and is the worlds third largest country
The capital of the US is Washington D.C. which is not located in a state, but in
an area called District of Columbia
The US is a nation of immigrants. People from all parts of the world emigrated
to America a land based on immigrants
Today the US is a multicultural society a true nation of nations
The US is a republic. The head of state is the President, who is elected for four
years. Current President Barack Obama is Americas first black president

The city of angels

The second-largest city in the US after New York City.


The most populous city in the state of California with a population of
3,792,621 (2010)
LA is known for its mediterranean climate, ethnic diversity, sprawling
metropolis and as a major center of the American entertainment industry
The Creative Capital of the World one in every six of its residents works
in a creative industry
Hollywood: The center of motion picture industry
The performing arts play a major role in LAs cultural identity
