Julie Anderson proposes to bake and decorate multiple types of cakes for her senior project to demonstrate her experience learning cake decorating techniques. She will show judges pictures of previously decorated cakes and the steps taken, as well as decorate a cake in front of them. Her Nana, who has worked in a family bakery business for years, will mentor her through the project so she can learn cake decorating skills in her family.

Teacher: J. Zimmerman Topic: Cake Decorating 1. What are you going to do for your project? - For my senior project I plan to bake multiple types of cakes and decorate them in several different ways. 2. What will you present to the judges to demonstrate your experience and learning? - To demonstrate and show proof of my project I will show the judges pictures of the cakes I've decorated and the steps I took to decorate them. I will also bring in a cake and decorate in front of them. 3. Explain who your mentor will be for this project and how they qualify to serve in this capacity. - My Nana (maternal grandmother) will be my mentor. She has worked at a self-employed family business for years. 4. What do you hope to gain from your NCGP experience? - I hope to learn a skill my family has that I have yet to partake and achieve in.
