Prayer Development
A) Theme: self-worth
B) Reading: Isaiah 43: 3-7
For I, the Lord am your God, the Holy One of Israel, your savior. I give Egypt as ransom for you,
Ethiopia and Seba in exchange for you. Because you are precious in my eyes and honored and I
love you, I give people in return for you and nations in exchange for your life. Fear not, for I am
with you; from the east I will bring back your offspring, from the west I will gather you. I will
say to the north: Give them up! and to the south: Do not hold them! Bring back my sons from
afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth: All who are created by my name I created for
my glory; I formed them, made them.
C) Reflection: Every teenager goes through a time in their lives when they question fundamental
questions and thoughts like why is my family against me, do my friends not want to be my
friends anymore, and things like that. They in a sense question their worth to others. God does
not want us to question our worth because he loves us indefinitely. He gives Egypt in ransom for
us and Ethiopia and Seba in exchange for us. He loves us so much that He would exchange a
country for us. Even if our families are against us or our friends hate us, God never feels that
way. He calls us from the ends of the earth, He sent His son to save us, his love for us is truer
that one could even imagine.

D) Prayer:
Dear Lord,
There are times in my life when I feel alone,
Like my family and friends have turned against me
There are moments when I dont even feel your presence lord.
Lord help me to find your love again
You sent your son to save us and your love is greater than even imaginable
You would exchange a nation for my life
Even if I stray away you call me back to you
Your love for me is everlasting and forever strong
And I should never forget that you love me
Amen
