Week 1 journal.

My first week in AlRuaya school was great but my first day was not
pretty good as the other days, because the principle was sick and she
doesnt come to the school but after that I went to my old teacher and
now she is my MST and she already know me because I studied in this
school for many years so it was not big problem ,because I solve it by
myself she told me you can go to your home today, because she cant
take me today to the class until the principle come. Moreover, in my
next two days was nice I introduce myself to the students, and they
told me welcome to our class I sat in the back of the class I observe
what the teacher did in the class, the activities she used, and the
strategies to engage all the students. Students will be more engaging
by: observe, thinking, and doing. The most interesting strategy was
humor in the class to let them not feel bored, because the students
need the teacher humor with them to feel more comfortable, and it
helps students learn more, according to Garner,R 2006 humor can be
a powerful tool when used in the classroom.1 The overall opinion of the
lessons was significantly higher in the experimental group. Students
indicated in the humor group that the information was
communicated more effectively and gave the teacher higher ratings.1
Further, the students in the experimental group were significantly more
able to recall and retain the knowledge from the lectures. (Humor in
Pedagogy , 2006) The teacher each class use different activities such
as: worksheet, students wrote a question then answer it, and play a
song about the lesson then she asked what happened in the song. The
teacher always focus to give students worksheet before she gives
them the worksheet she explain it clearly then the students can work
individually or in group is up to them, the worksheet can help students
to remember what they studied when they finished she praise them in
a good way like (excellent, great job, and good), as recommends Dwyer,
C 2016 Offering praise for students' work and efforts can alter this
mindset so that students can begin to view their own intelligence as
something that can be developed (Educational Testing Service,
2016). In my previous TP my MST she doesnt used humor during the
class she was serious when she talk and, all the students scared from
her, this thing can make students hate the class , and wont go to the
class. All this things may reduce students grades.
