Throughout my four years at Cornelia Connelly School I have been an active participant

in the student council. At the start of my freshman year I made the decision to run for student
council because I believed I could make a positive impact on those around me, I was then elected
Freshman Class President. This position helped me become a part of lifting school spirit and
organizing large school events. With the help of my classmates I was able to cooperate and share
new ideas and promote school traditions. Since my first year on student council I learned that I
can make a difference by using my classmates as a resource to help work with me to uphold
school spirit and to make everyone strive for a great year in an environment that is comfortable
for them.
My sophomore year I was elected and repeated the same accomplishments that would
keep my classmates involved in the school. My junior year I was elected as class secretary/
treasurer, my role as an upperclassman was larger and I had to change my goal. I then decided to
not only get my class involved in school activities, but the entire school community. To
accomplish this goal I started with the new freshman class, I notified them about all the clubs,
sports, and extracurriculars that could fit their interests. The student council gave me the support
that I needed to obtain my mission for the year.
By my senior year I finally felt that I was able to take on the role of student council
president. I was elected and carry out the duties, which is to fulfill all necessary needs of the
student council and the student body. As student council president I use my role to be an
impactor. I get to overlook the entire school and make sure that administration, teachers, and the
students are all involved in school activities. I enjoy being a friend and supporter to everyone, I
learned from my past years on student council how I make a difference in my school. All my
years on student council I have been able to impact my community by leading, serving, and

inspiring through all my school's activities. From my experience on student council I have been
impacted from the people around me. I have sharpened my communication skills that help me
collaborate with others. Collaboration has taught me that with the support of my school
community there are endless opportunities that can bring us closer together.
