workedinPaediatricIntensivecareunitfor6monthsandgotmypermanentgovernment
appointmentasAMedicalOfficerinObstetricsandGynecologyatBasehospitalNikaweratiya.

HoweverwhenIlookthroughthefutureopportunitiesandmyinterestsIwasquiteinterestedin
becominganeurosurgeoninUSA.Thechallengingnatureofthejobandtheincomparableservice
thataneurosurgeoncandotothesocietyfascinatedme.SoIresignedfromthegovernmentpost
andCurrentlyIampreparingforUSMLEstep1whichIwillbegivinginNovemberthisyear.(
2015).

AlthoughI'mverydeterminedIhavemanyobstaclesaheadofme.Forexampleobtainingvisafor
step2CS,findingUSclinicalexperiencesandlettersofrecommendationsforresidencyinterviews
areamongtopofthem.
