Statement of Future Plans
This is a Statement of Intent, a plan for my future life including college or careers. This
assessment will address where I will go to college, and what I will study in college. Though there
are many boundaries that come with applying for college, I will ultimately achieve my goals, and
get the schooling that I want. I will attend Solano Community College and major in Music
Composition. There are sixty credits in required courses that I plan on taking. Musical
Composition is something that I have been interested in for many years, and Im very excited to
learn about it at Solano.
I have taken advantage of my educational opportunities in school by always taking music
classes when present. I participated in the Marching Band my freshman year of high school at
Millennium High School in Goodyear Arizona. The marching band was named Marching Tiger
Pride, and we were ranked tenth in the state that year, and marched on Main Street in Disneyland
during the Main Street Parade. I was part of the front percussion, also known as Pit. It was a
very important experience for me as it opened my eyes to the greater depth of music.
I also currently participate in the Buckingham Jazz ensemble. I used play the drum kit
while there. My Sophomore and Junior year I played in two rock and roll bands. Our teacher,
Macal Mynor, has told me in the past that I am one of the most talented drummers that he has
ever had in one of his classes. (Dont tell anyone else that though.) Since then, I have damaged
some of the nerves and tore a muscle in my lower back, and I havent been able to play drums for

the past year due to my condition. However Im not giving up on drums and I use this as
inspiration to learn more about other aspects of music.
I have also participated in a band class at Western Sky Middle School in Goodyear
Arizona. I participated from sixth to eighth grade. This has less of a current impact on me but
was still important as it helped me find my love for music. I was introduced to more a complex
understanding of music at a young age, and that certainly helped me.
All of these life experiences contributed to my passion for music, and my desire to study
it at Solano. Without those, I wouldnt been as passionate for music as I am now, and it helped
shape the foundation for my future. I hope to be able to become a wonderful music composer one
day, and perhaps write music for movies and other forms of media. I believe that Solano can
provide the education that I need, and Im very excited to study Music Composition.
