We just completed reading learning elements of postcolonial theory
while reading Joseph Conrads Heart of Darkness and watching the movie
adaptation Apocalypse Now. Now you are knowledgeable individuals on the
material. There are many elements to postcolonial theory, and we just
covered some of the element in this class.
Task: Your task for a final wrap up of postcolonial theory and Heart of
Darkness is to take that step closer to becoming an expert. You are to write a
short paper, about 4-5 pages, about your research. Within the paper, you
should include: supporting information from Heart of Darkness and
(optionally) Apocalypse Now, secondary sources, a thesis statement, and a
works cited.
Upon completing your paper, make a very brief presentation; it should
be a couple of slides, to present to the class the general ideas from your
paper.
