1. Introduction of counselor/lesson (5 minutes)


PROCEDURE

a. Counselor will introduce self and roles


b. Counselor will introduce the days topic of: career interests

LearnMore Indiana magazines will be distributed

2. 21st Century Scholars (5 minutes)


a. Counselor will introduce 21st Century Scholars and what it is
b. Students will turn to page 15 in the LearnMore magazine
c.

Counselor will guide students through the information on page 15 of


the LearnMore magazine

3. Kuder Naviagator (15 minutes)


a. Counselor will instruct students to turn on their iPads and go to
http://www.indianacareerexplorer.org/
i. Students will select new users from the login area
ii. Students will select student and 8th grade
iii. Students will press continue
iv. Students will create a username and password using the
same username and password as Blackboard
v. Students will enter the access code

vi. Students will check the agreement box and click register to
complete the process
b. Counselor will introduce students to the home page
c.

Counselor will instruct students to click on learn more about myself


i. Students will select my interests

4. My Interests Assessment (15 minutes)


a. Students will complete the interests assessment
b. Students will fill out the worksheet after completing the interests
assessment
c.

Students will use the rest of the class period to explore the career
pathways and occupations from their results

5. Counselor will collect the bottom portion of the worksheet (post-test)
