MOBILE AREA RUGBY FOUNDATION TO START YOUTH LEAGUE

Mobile, Al, August 27, 2015 The Mobile Area Rugby Foundation has partnered with Spring Hill College
Rugby to begin a youth non-contact rugby league for Mobile. The league is set to begin on Sunday,
September 27th, 2015 and will run on every Sunday at 2 p.m. on Dorn Field throughout September and
October. The league is open to boys and girls ages 7-11.
The director of Mobile Area Rugby Foundation, Robert Corley, is setting out to grow the game
throughout Mobile and has big expectations for the organization. He explained, organizationally, our
programming targets the 7-12 age group, coed demographic to build awareness and bring attention to a
safe, inclusive, fast-paced alternative to the more popular sports in the South. Long-term, we see late
elementary and middle-school P.E. classes and after school club teams as feeders to high school,
collegiate and senior sides throughout the southeast.
Mobile Area Rugby Foundation sets out to introduce, form, and build a competitive venue for youth
rugby in Mobile and Baldwin counties using a foundation-based approach that will result in a sustainable
model for continued rugby program development.
