Classroom Arrangement
I decided to arrange both of my classrooms with small group
instruction in mind. The student desks, in both of the room are spread
out enough for easy access between all students and the teacher. The
teachers desk and places of instruction are arranged so that each
student can be seen by the teacher at all times. The students are able
to see the instruction presentations by the way the room is arranged. I
would use the round desk in both of my classrooms for small group
instruction directed by the teacher. If the students are broken up into
different learning levels, for example in a learning support classroom, it
would be easier to have one designated group at the round table to
receive their instruction and then bring the other students over for
their instruction. I believe that setting the classroom up in a small
group instruction in mind will help bring community in the classroom
because the students will know that they can count on their teams
whenever they have worksheets or group experiments.
