The Path to My Dreams
Ever since I was little, there was an urge to become a doctor. My mother had
gotten very sick when I was younger, and it made me very worried that I wasnt able to
do anything but watch her lay in bed, and soon go to the hospital. I wanted to be able to
figure out why she was so sick, which had led me to want to become a doctor.
While researching, it surprised me to see that many doctors werent doctors in the
first place. One had been a inventor, while the other had been a gypsy. Another surprising
fact is that doctors dont go to school as long as other people think they do. In fact, it
depends on how long they want to stay in school. The doctor I had interviewed only
stayed in college for 6 years, and is a great doctor despite the lower education he
received.
The one I interviewed was a man with many years of experience, Eric Holmberg,
and he had been able to tell me what he experienced. He told me mostly everything he
had gone through, telling me that even if I do become something unrelated to a doctor, I
can still be a good doctor. I learned that if you try hard enough you can do what you
really want to do in life. The information the doctor gave me was very helpful, and it had
boosted my hopes even more. Learning that if I really wanted to become a doctor, I could
just by trying my best. Interviewing was a great experience, since it had helped me get a
better understanding of the career I want to do in the future. I learned a few new
vocabulary words, for example, soft speaking. He also had told me that I would need to

take science class, biology, chemistry, and physics the most, in order for me to get a
higher boost in the medical course. Researching and learning new things about doctors or
the medical group makes me excited about the near future and what Ill do in college and
before that. He had said, there are moments of a doctor that you can become scared, but
all you have to do is to do your best, since if you dont do your best you can mess up and
risk someones life. Learning this makes me realize that I have to be a good person to be
in under pressure, and I would need to improvise as soon as possible if something goes
wrong.
Being able to interview a doctor was one of the greatest and most exciting
experiences I ever had. I enjoyed interviewing and learning so many new things about
being a doctor. The interview boosted my excitement of college and being able to help
others in the future. It may seem like doctors go through many years, however it doesnt
actually take that long to graduate and get a medical degree Holmberg had said. I am
sure I am very dedicated to being a doctor, since I want to be able to help friends, family
members, and others when theyre not feeling too well or if they have pains in the body
they cant explain. I want to be able to help or save someone in the future, even if its
something small, for example determining if its just a small cold or a major illness.
