\WCSO Mail - Prop Weapon Policy 4n3n6, 148 PM Prop Weapon Policy ‘Thu, Apr 7, 2016 at 10:49 PM Kathryn Mosiman To: , Cc: Chelsea Haatand , WAYNE KISCHER Good evening Crystal and Brian, ‘As you may have noticed tonight, did not have a prop weapon while on stage during the performance. | wanted to reach out and explain the reasoning behind this decision, Last night-Wednesday, April 6th—after the Parent Preview performance, did not check in his prop weapon after the performance per the stage weapon protocol dutifully explained by both Mrs. Haaland and Mr. Kischer on many occasions to those actors using weapons in our production. While this may seem like a minor infraction, it is crucial that our production team follows protocol in regards to the use of prop weapons. It is not a protocol that comes from Mrs. Haaland, Mr. Kischer, and myself, i's not a protocol that comes down from our administration; i's not a protocol that comes down from the district. This protocol is standard in ‘ALL theatre productions and if we do not follow these protocols, it would jeopardize the future of all prop weapon use here at Waukee. will not have a prop weapon in tomorrow evening's production as well. Both Mrs. Haaland and | have reiterated ‘the prop weapons protocol with and we are confident that he will be able to use @ weapon during Saturday's performances. ‘Thank you for your grace and understanding; Mrs. Haaland and | are doing what's best for this show so that every student involved in this performance will have a great experience.
