Material Certificate of Compliance

Material Cert is only required with the original FAI unless Purchase Order Code RC-09 is specified

General Requirements

C of C Ident No. XXXXX (Optl)

1. Material Certification (Cert) is required for each material called out in the drawing requirements.
2. Materials that require Certification:

A. Specific material that is called out for use in the item being supplied to Rockwell Collins.
B. Material defined in drawing notes or parts list that must conform to a defined requirement; includes materials
used in sub-level build-to-print documents.
C. Items to be altered. Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) or standard catalog items, only when they are declared on
Form 2, such as hardware, fasteners, and common electrical components, etc.
3. Acceptable Material Certification:

A. Material Cert must be from the manufacturer of the material, or the raw material test report provider.
B. A Material Test Report is an acceptable Material Cert if it includes applicable specific requirements listed below.
C. For Printed Wiring Boards (PWB): Cert of Comp from the PWB supplier is adequate to satisfy material certification.
D. Delta FAI requires a Material Cert only if the material was changed.
E. For COTS or standard catalog items: Provide evidence/traceability of procuring the correct items.

Specific Requirements for raw materials


The Material C of C shall include the following information as a minimum:
1. Your Material, or Test Report Suppliers business name and mailing address.
2. Date of transaction.
3. Evidence of your company authorizing or procuring the material and/or services. Or, the Cert may refer to the
Rockwell Collins part number and/or P.O. number.
4. The Cert shall declare all specified material characteristics. A list of common material characteristics is shown below:
A. Name of material.
B. Alloy
C. Temper
D. Sheet, sheet thickness, bar, rod, etc.
E. Material Test Report data
F. Color
G. Compound
H. Type
I. Class
J. Durometer
K. Shelf-life
L. Species (wood)
M. Any applicable Industry, National or International Standards
