DRESS FOR SUCCESS:

FASHION SHOW

Welcome!

A Message from T. Haas

You have complete freedom to make any statement

you want with your appearance. The catch is do you
want to exercise that freedom a second time? In the job
market, we are selling ourselves. Yes, we are selling our
abilities, but we have to give people a reason to give us
the time and attention it takes to prove ourselves.
But its not only about how clothes make other people
view you. Its also about how clothes make you view
yourself. Theres a study called, Enclothed Cognition,
that appeared in the Journal of Experimental Social
Psychology. The study provides research results to
prove what you already know if you look good, you
feel good.

Youve already taken a positive step by believing there

is truth to Dressing for Success and attending this
event organized by our Career Center and HTM
students. Give yourself an additional competitive
advantage by showing that Lakers are smart, better
prepared and know how to signal confidence.
Show employers, and your family and friends that you
know what it means to have the Laker Effect.
-President T. Haas
