Kaitlyn is a dedicated and hardworking student teacher. She has avery good working relationship with her cooperating teacher and the other building staff. She came into the classroom before her student teaching assignment started to get to know the students and the classroom procedures. Kaitlyn works very hard to plan lessons that are organized and focused on the classroom learning objectives. She spends time studying and preparing her lessons. She has taught lessons that are direct, indirect and cooperative. She works hard to give clear, concise directions, Her students enjoy her lessons. Her recent lesson on how animals use scents helped her students be engaged and excited about their learning. Kaitlyn is working to develop her own classroom management plan. She is reflective about the students’ behavior, and how she might address it to enhance learning. She has. tried a variety of strategies. Kaitlynn is very willing to learn from ideas provided by other building staff. She genuinely wants the best for her students. She is working now to quickly get the students’ attention and have smooth, quick classroom transitions. Kaitlyn completed her unit in science. She planned fourteen days of curriculum. She did a good job of making the learning fun and engaging. Her posttest clearly showed significant learning. For her culminating activity, she invited parents into the classroom so the students could share what they had been learning. Kaitlynn is a natural with young children. She spends time getting to know them and trying to understand their challenges. She works very well with students one on one. She is reflective about her teaching, always seeking to improve.
