How did you attract/

address your
audience?

Front Page
In the front page, I made sure that the older
members of my audience would be attracted to
my magazine through the used of the font. The
font is quite sophisticated. The colour scheme
also connotes a sophisticated manner as the
colour red connoted the passion that the subject
has for what she does, while the colour white
represents something new and exciting. This will
link to how the older members, the reformers,
will want to read it to make their own judgments
on the subject and on the magazine as a whole.

Front Page
I ensured my front page appealed to a younger
audience by having a young subject. This would
attracted people of around the same age and
encourage them to read it. The cover lines
would also appeal to a younger audience
because they are mostly about young artists, or
about things that a younger generation would
want to do, such as seeing live music.

Contents Page
The contents page appeals to an older audience
through the photograph that I used. Like most
JazzWise magazine covers, my subject is in a
red, velvet evening dress. This shows the
sophisticated manner that the magazine can
have and how it can appeal to both types of
audiences.

Double Page Spread

My double page spread would appeal to a young
audience through the article style. The question
and answer style is not typical of a jazz magazine;
however, I decided to use it in order to allow my
young audience member to be intrigued.

The photograph of the DPS would appeal to an

older audience because of my subjects pose. The
pose she is doing is elegant and reflects that of the
JazzWise edition that I analysed. This elegant pose
once again emphasises the traditional manner that
would attract some of my audience members.
