Brief Explanation of the Mechanism

Chassis :
The dimensions of the chassis are : 11.8 cm * 17.7 cm.
The chassis of car is a perforated metal plate (MS). Holes are provided for L - clamps and for the
wires to pass.
L - clamps are used to make mounts for the DC motors at four corners, which are then fixed to the
chassis using nuts and bolts.
A layer of cardboard is placed on the chassis to mount the above motioned electronic circuitry.

M4 bolts are inserted through the chassis to make an housing for the Li-Po battery.
The body is made using cardboard, covering all the components.

Steering Mechanism :
The steering mechanism used in the car is a 4 wheel differential steering, which gives the car a
zero turning radius.
It can turn the car to either left or right or complete 360 degree in place pivot rotation.
Two motor pairs on the left and right side of the car are connected in parallel and connected to a
dual H Bridge.
When the car has to move forward or backward all the motors rotate in the same sense.
When the car has to make a left turn, motors on the left rotate backward and the motors on the
right rotate forward.
When the car has to make a right turn, motors on the left rotate forward and the motors on the
right rotate backward.
All the controls are made using a Bluetooth transceiver, connected to the Arduino and controlled
by an Android Smartphone.

Suspension :
The car is of very small size and light weighted. Hence providing a suspension system in a very
small area would be difficult and would also add unecessary weight and make the whole system
unreliable. Also because of the light weight of the car and the terrain of the track would be
carpeted ( mentioned in the rules ), no suapension would be required. Hence the car is not
provided with a suspension system.
