THE WAY HE MAKES ME FEEL

Every time I speak to him my heart skips a beat,

His magnetic voice pulls at me and I give up in defeat,

Those deep black eyes so dangerous yet so naïve,

I hover towards them like the bee to the hive.

When we hold hands there is no need to speak,

When he pulls up my chin I feel the blush rise up my cheeks,

A gentle gesture, as he tucks my hair behind my ear,

It wipes away all my senses of fear.

When he pulls me closer, his sweet smell I take in.

Shut down everything else, the moment I revel in.

As his lips brush my eyes instinctively,

My head on his chest, I can hear his heart hammering wildly.

And when we kiss I feel the ground slip from under my feet,

I feel heaven is not above; it’s when two souls meet.

And when I see him cry, tears swell up in my eyes,

It breaks my heart to see the pain in his eyes.

And when I am not with him I wonder if he is alright,

My mouth curves into a smile when I get his kiss goodnight.

As I settle in my bed, my mind is filled with his presence.

And as I waft into my dreams I can still feel his essence.
