Motivation:
There is personal motivation in this project because the scholars are taking their own
personal traits and comparing what their celebrity baby would look like.

Presentation: This lesson today is a creative activity where they pick celebrity that
they think has desirable traits and compare what their offspring would look like if they had
a celebrity baby. The scholars wrote down their physical traits like hair color, eye color,
dimples, earlobes and some others. They then looked up a celebrity of their choice and
wrote down the same physical characteristics. They then created and completed punnet
squares to see which traits, theirs or the celebrity, would be present in their offspring.

Practice/Application: The instructions were very clear and the scholars were very

excited to create their celebrity babies . There were very few questions as the teacher
circulated around the room while the scholars worked. Most of the questions surrounded
completing of the punnet squares. I would have liked to see her write some of the
examples on the board as the scholars asked the questions.
Review/Assessment: I was in this classroom earlier in the week as they completed
assignments on diseases. I again would have liked to see a learning objective and/or word
wall that the scholars could refer back to while completing the assignments. There was
great engagement by the scholars as they researched and then created their offspring.
They were very excited to share what their babies would look like. I loved to see the
engagement and excitement that was shared with me. As with all of the lessons I
observed, it is obvious that my goal as an administrator would be to get my teachers to
express clear language objectives and learning targets.
