deadlinesforfillingavacancy.
YouwillnormallymeetonememberofourHRteamandanumberofpeopleintheteam(s)youare
beingconsideredfor.
Wedonotuseassessmentcentres,psychometrictestingoraptitudetesting.
Wewillaskyousomequestionsaboutyouraspirationsandambitions,yourinitiativeandfocus.As
describedinWhowearelookingfor,theseareveryimportantforarecruittothriveatTTPandwe
arekeentoseeevidence.
Fortechnicalcandidates,wewillaskyousometechnicalquestionsrelevanttotheroleandto
technologyandproductdevelopmentskills.Thesewillusuallybeproblemsolvingquestions,or
perhapsadetaileddiscussionofaprojectyouhaveworkedon.
Thetechnicalquestionsaredesignedtotestthesortsofproblemsolvingskillsthatwefindare
requiredfortherole.Ourexperienceisthatveryoftenthelargestpartofsolvingrealproblems
comesfromaptapplicationofrobustprinciples.Forexample,inthedevelopmentofatechnology
thatusesaphysicseffect,agoodblendoftheoreticalandhandsonskillssuchasexperimentation
arerequired.Inmanycasesahighlyidealisedtheorycanyieldinsightveryquickly,canmakethelab
orotherhandsonworkmuchmoreefficient,andprovetobesurprisinglyaccurate.Insomecases,
thetheorywillrequiredevelopment,perhapsinvolvingcomplexcomputation.Butthegoverning
physicsandengineeringprinciplesarethestartingpointfordevelopment.
Wewilloften,butnotalways,askquestionsthatarefromapplicationareasthatarenotrelatedto
therole.Theprinciplesandskillsrequiredtoanswerthequestionarestillrelevant,eventhoughthey
areappliedtoadifferentresult.Thisapproachallowsustorecruitcandidateswhosebackgroundis
fromadifferentindustry.Itisourbeliefthattalentedpeoplecanlearntheindustryspecific
knowledgeoncetheyarehired.
