Maddy: Today, well be analyzing Sophie Scholl: The Final Days, which was made in 2006.
Sami: Sophie Scholl is a member of the White Rose, an anti-Nazi peace group. She works with her brother
and other University students to spread the White Roses idea.
Clip 1 (passing out propaganda)
Maddy: After Sophie is arrested, she is interrogated by a criminologist for 6 days before her show trial. The
conversation between the criminologist and Sophie was from the actual transcripts.
Clip 2 (interrogation)
Sami: During Sophies confinement, she shares a cell with Else Gebel. The directors didnt know exactly
what was said between Else and Sophie, but they were able to infer conversations they mightve had.
Clip 3 (Sophie and Else)
Maddy: The film was as accurate as the scriptwriter and director were able to make it, and for their efforts,
they won an Academy Award and an Oscar.
