    Most voters favor a national energy policy that expands domestic energy production while also limiting carbon dioxide emissions, according to a recent survey. Support was highest among Democrats at 80% and independents at 68%, compared to 52% of Republicans. Non-tea party supporters strongly favored such a policy at 56%, while tea party supporters were split at 47% favoring and 42% opposing the balanced approach. The survey was conducted by Bellwether Research and Consulting of 800 registered voters in April and May 2010.
