What is a Computer Virus?

It is a computer program that runs without authorization

or knowledge of the user, the virus aim to alter the
operating system operability. There are viruses for all
existing operating systems, there are usually no single
operating platform virus for the system for which they
were designed

-- The First Virus:

The first virus was created in 1972 for IBM 360,
one of the first commercial computers,
computer virus called Creeper, because it
showed the following message on the screen
constantly "I'm a creeper ... catch me if you
can. This started the first antivirus called
Reaper.

PC:
- Producing blocks and processes that slow
- Displayed on screen messages or images, move the mouse or
close windows

- Destroy files essential to the functioning of the operating system

- Modify and hide files

Logic bomb:
This is a malicious software that has the feature that is hidden until activated
by a particular action (touch keys, a certain date, etc), but the condition
occurs remains hidden from the user. One of the first cases where a logic
bomb was used to sabotage a Soviet gas pipeline in 1982 which caused a
huge explosion

Trojan:
This malicious software is generally used to steal information,
derives its name from the legendary wooden horse used by the
Greeks as it pretends to be a useful software into your system.
The actions that generate the Trojans ranging from change or
add icons and change the desktop to the deletion of files
necessary for an unauthorized user to access the system
without being detected.

-- VIRUS CLASSES
Worm:
A malware that has the ability to replicate itself without the
intervention of anyone, their main threat is that replication can send
hundreds of copies of itself, causing a substantial adverse effect on a
large scale. Normally they act in the network causing constant
crashes in much of the websites

One Tip:
A good antivirus removes a lot of problems
