Lesson Focus: the focus of todays lesson is throwing
the Frisbee with the forehand technique
Equipment and Facilities: the lesson will be taught on
the blacktop area and the equipment needed is four
cones and 10 Frisbees.

Grade Level: 4th / 5th


# Of students: 20

Teaching Strategy: the teacher will be active during


the lesson giving corrections and walking around the
area making sure everyone is staying on task and
understands how to properly throw the Frisbee.

Academic Language: forehand- throwing the Frisbee


with elbow tuck into side and the inside of your arm
pointing towards target.

Safety Considerations: the safety considerations


would be the students not aiming the Frisbee toward
their target and end up hitting another student. The
other consideration would be the students not paying
attention during the instant activity and running into
one another
Lesson Specifics
Behavioral Contingencies: there will be a two strike

We will start off with a game of capture
the flag. There will be two teams one on
the red cone side one on the green. When
I say go you have to try to run to the
other teams side and take their flag
without getting tagged. If you get tagged,
you have to go to the jail and wait for a
teammate to come tag you out. If you are
on your side of the court, then you are

Set Induction:
Yesterday you all worked on the
backhand throw and today we will be
working on the forehand Frisbee throw.
You will get into partners and practice
throwing the Frisbee to one another. The
cues for throwing the Frisbee are peace
sign, thumb on top, elbow in, snap wrist.
Make sure you give each other enough
room to practice so that you are not
getting in the way of each other.
Purpose:
This skill is important because it is
another way to throw the Frisbee, and can
be useful is the students ever want to
actually play a game of ultimate Frisbee.
Transition
When I say so students will get in
partners and grab a Frisbee, then find a
space to practice.
