PHYS 1131
At the end of the class (1 hour), students will be able to apply Newton's laws to solve motion
problems involving forces. This course (PHYS 1131) is located in the first year of Engineering
Technology program. This course has two classes each week. This lesson will be held in the 3 rd
week. Instructor will give previous lesson on Kinematics (Time, velocity, speed, motion, and
force). The next lesson will be on the Newtons 3 rd law of motion and further application of
Newtons Law: Friction, Drag, and Elasticity.
Instructor will give multiple options considering diverse students like PowerPoint, handouts,
auditory, and textual. For example, during lesson Instructor can explain showing slides, given
handouts as well, and mention the related page numbers from the text. Also can write
sometimes on the black board/smartboard. Multiple options work well as a backup plan. Last 4/5
minutes to wrap up the lesson.
Outcome:
Apply Newtons Laws of Motion using free body diagram & static equilibrium to
measure mass, gravity, and force.
