Dear North Star Reading Volunteer,

Please take a couple of minutes today to talk with your reading partner about
his or her current reading level and what goals he or she needs to have in
order to reach the expected reading level for their grade.
Also, after your reading partner has read the nonfiction book in the reading
bag, please have him or her WRITE the answers to the question stems you
can find on the TRC Nonfiction Question Stems sheet. Look on the back
of the book to find the reading level and match the questions to the level of
the book. It is very important that your reading partner practices writing the
answers as this is what students are expected to do on the reading
assessment. Testing begins on Wednesday, April 27. This is wonderful
practice to help prepare your partner to reach his or her reading goals!
