(factoring, rationalizing the numerator or the denominator, adding fractions). 5) Know when a limit does not exist. 6) Know how to find limits involving x. 7) Be able to find the vertical asymptotes for a function. 8) Be able to find the missing constants in a piecewise function which will make the function continuous. 9) Know the three criteria for a function to be continuous at a point. 10) Know the difference and be able to tell me the removeable and nonremoveable discontinuities given a function. 11) Use the Intermediate Value Thereom and what needs to be shown in order to use it. 12) Be able to find one sided limits and what a one sided limit tells you. 13) Know and be able to use the two special trigonometric limits in order to find other trigonometric limits.
