Department of Health Central Visayas turn-over of Blood Apparatus to Barangay

Health Workers of Southern Cebu

The Department of Health Central Visayas spearheaded a turn-over ceremony of Blood
Pressure Apparatus and Glucometer Kits to Barangay Health Workers from
municipalities in Southern Cebu last January 22, 2016. The afternoon activity was held
at Minglanilla Sports Complex, Minglanilla Cebu.

DOH Regional Office VII Director, Dr. Jaime S. Bernadas and Minglanilla Mayor Hon.
Elanito Pena graced the turn-over ceremony that were attended by the municipal health
officers and selected barangay health workers of municipalities in Southern Cebu. Five
units of BP Apparatus and Glucometer kits were given to the barangay health workers
from the different municipalities of Southern Cebu.

Director Bernadas also stressed the important role of the barangay health workers in
giving out their full support to the different health programs and in the strengthening of
the community health team.

Addressing the crowd, the health Director also stressed the importance of Philhealth
enrolment. He encouraged review and listing of functional stations and reconcile with
Philhealth requirement checklist. This will foster a collaborative partnership to avail of
services to include a proactive wellness program.
Furthermore, Mayor Pea representing the other local chief executives lauded the
Department of Health for its effort and endeavors in providing assistance to the local
