WHAT IS PRT?
Parks Recreation and Tourism is everything but is not limited
to social, environmental, and economic aspects of society.
Students thinking about becoming a PRT major are going to
be among the few who change the world.

Students at the University of Utah who are looking at
obtaining their degree in PRT can major in various emphasis

Curriculum
The courses in the program cover the major aspects of
hospitality, including marketing, accounting, resort
management, food and beverage, convention management,
hospitality law, and front office procedures.
Students who complete the program would be employed in
various supervisory and entry-level management positions in
hotels and restaurants throughout the hospitality industry.

WHY ITS IMPORTANT


Hospitality is one of the fastest growing industries and we as
hospitality providers are the ones who make it. We are in
charge of providing exceptional service and a general good
time. Who wouldnt want to have a job where you make sure
people have a good time?

EXPERIENCES
As a Hospitality Student, the most valuable part of the
program is the hands on experiences.
Working with other humans is one of the key features to
working in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism so the most
important way for us to learn is to have hands on
experiences.

FOLLOWS YOU
The definition of hospitality is kindness in welcoming
strangers or guests.
Hospitality is a skill that will be useful even when you leave
work.
Hospitality teaches you how to be a good person and treat
others with the kindness and respect that humans deserves.
Theres no better place than the University of Utah to learn
how to be hospitable.
