Spelling Lesson 27
I am really proud of our children this week. They are trying hard to do their best on the Aspire test -and that is all that we ask of them. Most of them are taking their time, and they are making an effort to
listen to and follow instructions.

In Language Arts class this week, the students continue the verb unit. They will recognize and
correctly use the principal parts of a verb. Also, they will recognize figurative language and some
poetry forms. Finally, Mrs. Smith was disappointed in last week's spelling test scores. She has
encouraged the students to study their words daily.
In Math, the class will complete the chapter review Friday in preparation for Mondays test. Mrs.
Johnson has also given the students a practice packet to work on during the week. Remember
Mathletics is also a good resource for practice to continue working on adding and subtracting mixed
numbers and fractions.
Last week the children brought home a baby bottle that is used to save coins that will be donated to the
Womens Center of Greater Chicagoland. We have already had one filled bottle brought back! The
final collection date for the bottles is May 6.
And we are still collecting Box Tops for Education. Room 305 has a very random pattern of box top
collection. Some months we have a lot; some months none. I hope we can make April another a lot
month.
WINDOW ON UPCOMING EVENTS
Class Mass, Wednesday, 8:15. We will be creating and reading the Prayer of the Faithful. Please
join us if you can.
Art Zone and Curriculum Fair, Sunday, April 24 from 11:30 to 2. Come and see all our great
work!
