shortamountoftime)butisabletoworkthroughthemtoaffectchange.Thechangemadeby
Juniorhappensashebecomesmoreselfaware.Theideaofdefiningoneselfasaparttime
Indianiscomicalandthoughtprovokingbutasthenovelprogressesitbecomesevidenttothe
readerthatparttimeIndianwasmorethanjustalabelforJuniorandhowhevisualized
himselfevolved.Towardstheendofthenovel,Juniorstilldoesnotseemhimselfaspartofone
tribebutasamemberofasloughoftribes:
