Pick a sound, sound it out with and for the
children
Sing the song with the children
After they all shout out their name, ask each
child what their name sounds like so
everyone can hear
Change up the sound 3 more times
Discuss what they think about the song

Explain how the song will tell us to jump
forward and backward, lean to the left,
wiggle to the right and act out all these
animals
I will explain all the animals it will ask us to
act out
I will go through the song and encourage
children to join in with me
Try for them to show you how they will do it
without hitting on another

Go over the motions with the children
Introduce the book to the children,
pointing out the words that go with the

Play the song on the CD and do it all

Play CD and leave page open so they can

Speak about the sounds
Ask them to give you an example of a
sound in their own name

how much love there is to share, just by
singing this song to someone. Or telling their
friends how wonderful they are.

After a couple times, tell them instead of
shouting it, theyll whisper it this time
Go over the sounds with the children
whispering their names at the end
Ask them how they should do it next

you read their part, they stand up and act as if
they are walking to town (one lap around the
circle)
Build off the discussion they are giving, how
do you think she was able to walk all the way
to town that way?
Do you think she was really able to?
Do you think she walks upside down
everywhere?
Think about where and how you could walk
upside down and well discuss it more

Do it all together one time


Have one child come up at a time to do
the movements in the middle of the
circle, giving each child a chance
Speak again about how important it is to
tell someone something nice, itll change
and make their day
