Yves Proposal For Extension Services
Yves Proposal For Extension Services
Introduction
A.
Rationale or justification
The aim of this outreach program is to provide possible source information to the target community in
order to lessen the effects of child trafficking and labor. One of the obvious problems of the community
is their lack of knowledge about the possible long-term effects of these practices to the children, and in
effect to the progress, of the community.
This program also aims to provide basic reading, writing, and numeracy skills training for the
residents of Barangay Doa Luisa, Laoang, Northern Samar. The resident, based on the benchmarking
survey and interviews conducted by the Office of Research and Extension, are experiencing an
extensive problem of illiteracy in their barangay, most especially with their school-age and adolescent
residents. This problem roots from the inadequacy of educational interest among the residents of the
target barangay.
B.
Problems
It was observed by the Project Leader that the target barangays residents do not possess basic
reading and writing skills.
Needs
Based on the benchmarking survey and interviews conducted, he target barangay is in need of
a seminar to provide basic reading and writing skills.
Resources
The adopted barangay has a sufficient Elementary School where classrooms are wide enough
to accommodate several students who will be attending the seminar. Involved in the activities are the
students of the College of Education, as well as other supporting agencies, such as the teaching staff
of Barangay Doa Luisa Elementary School.
